Teddy Sagi is an Israeli businessman and founder of the Playtech software company and owner of London’s Camden Market. In 2015 Teddy Sagi reached number seven on Forbes list of the Top Ten Richest People in Israel with a current net worth of £3 672 billion.
He was born in North Tel Aviv, Israel, in 1972 and spent a good portion of his childhood in the Shikun Lamed neighbourhood, a moderately residential area. His father owned a travel agency, and his mother was a certified cosmetician.
From a very young age, Teddy was taught the importance of hard work and determination. By 2015 he was number seven on the Forbes list of the Top Ten Richest People in Israel. Sagi’s mantra is, “To be a billionaire, first, you must make millionaires in your team.”
Teddy’s Business Life
Teddy Sagi founded the gambling software company Playtech in 1999 and built it into a $700 million company that trades on the London Stock Exchange. He then sold 12% of Playtech for $400 million in 2016 and the balance thereof in November 2018 for $88 million. Playtech is not his only achievement. He has taken three other companies public on London’s AIM, and they are Market Tech, the online payments processor SafeCharge and his cybersecurity company Kape.
In 2019 Teddy Sagi sold SafeCharge to a Canadian company Nuvei for a whopping $889 million, and today he is listed as number 539 in Forbes list of global Billionaire’s.
